Pure Pickin’: Chris Thile

Chris Thile has talent. This statement is something that most everyone interested in Bluegrass can agree on. Something that Chris Thile has not always had a lot of is style. Formerly a member of Nikel Creek, the southern Californian was a little too cardigan clad and soft-spoken for my taste. But times change. Free from his former band Thile has spent ample time perfecting his intricate style of picking and redefining his image. If you’re a fan of excellent instrumental mandolin, Wolfcreek Pass is a song you should surely give a listen. Good bass and fiddle accompany his long winded style well keeping the track steady and adding flourish. Links below. Cheers.
